Milk is one of the most nutritious liquids known to mankind. But for those people who have kidney problems, drinking a lot of milk may not be recommended. The problem with milk is similar to that of processed meats: the protein content is too high for weak kidneys to deal with.
It is important to lower milk intake to avoid the build-up of waste protein in the blood. Too much phosphorus may also weaken bone structures as the kidneys cannot filter it out. This may be surprising as milk is known for its benefits to bones. For people with kidney problems, it is actually the opposite.
